Leaf peeping is at it's peak here in the Hudson River Valley and we are enjoying gorgeous, colorful mountain vistas.  Indeed there are many who travel from far and wide to spend the day on our farms picking apples, pumpkins, and bringing home scrumptious cider donuts (if the donuts aren't eaten beforehand)!  One only needs to drive 60-90 minutes North of Manhattan to find a wonderful local farm!  Based on the many "Zip" cars I see in the parking lots, it appears as though many of our New York City neighbors know a good thing when they see it! 

Interesting developments happening in the business world are impacting our local real estate market.  For one, mortgage interests rates are DOWN, many loans below 4% for a 30-year fixed rate loan.  On a local level, although IBM Corp is divesting some of it's less profitable functions, it does not appear to be impacting jobs in the New York area.  In fact, fears of jobs losses were quelled when it was announced today that IBM would be selling it's chip manufacturing facilities to Global Foundries.  Global Foundries is on the cutting edge of nanotechnology which New York State strongly supports.  In fact, SUNY Albany is leading the pack in nanotechnology education.   Clearly, New York's Hudson River Valley region is the place to be!
