For forty-three years we have lived at 303 Bayberry Lane. It was our first house after a New York City apartment, and we wondered that we-and a young family-could actually afford an idyllic piece of property in a town like Westport. It was the best decision we ever made (after marriage!).

The twin joys of living by moving water and living in and with nature have been constant. The house has grown with our needs: three architect designed additions enhance the sense of “inside/outside”, as light pours into every room. This feeling of being part of the landscape surrounding us has been a source of endless pleasure.

Leaving 303 Bayberry Lane, I will take with me many wonderful memories of gatherings inside-in winter, sometimes around the fire, outside in summer on the lawn and stone terrace.

I will miss the nurturing sound of flowing water….I will miss the animated life a squirrel, bird, duck, heron, wild turkey and yes, occasional deer...and the stretch of acres of open space meadow across the river.

As an artist, all this fed my imagination.
I will miss the soaring studio designed by my architect husband, as were the other
additions.
