Experience and Background
In 1991, William M. Burke was named Chief Operating Officer and partner of Preferred Properties Inc., a 7 office real estate company in Fairfield County, CT with over 90 sales associates. Mr. Burke, a former Senior Vice President of Greenwich Federal Savings in charge of lending and real estate, became Preferred Properties' chief operating officer. In this capacity he oversaw the company's residential, commercial, relocation and mortgage divisions. On April 1, 2008 Preferred Properties Inc. joined forces with National Realty Trust as part of the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury team in lower Fairfield County CT. He is now part of the Greenwich CT Office staff as a Real Estate Broker.
In addition to his job as Senior VP at Greenwich Federal Savings, he was an officer of the bank sub-corporation that converted over 400 apartment units in four apartment buildings in Stamford CT to condominiums. Over the years he has been involved with the administration of a number of local civic organizations including Lions Club and Boy Scouts of America.
During the 80's he built a summer home in Nantucket, MA and became involved in land development and home construction on that Island.
He is a licensed real estate broker in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Florida and also held an appraiser's license in Connecticut. In addition, he is a licensed, instrument-rated commercial pilot, both land and sea and has been a property owner and part-time resident of Longboat Key FL for over 10 years.
